What We Do

OSCAR Registration Service

For districts that run complex registration campaigns city-wide with community providers and seek to prioritize their most underserved students, InPlay offers a solution that reduces your coordination time and work. InPlay’s Out-of-School Communication and Registration Service (OSCAR) offers an innovative mobile registration service that signs up your underserved students in expanded learning programs to boost learning recovery.

How does OSCAR work?

OSCAR starts by requesting your lists of priority students and the summer or afterschool programs you want to offer to families. Then the OSCAR service sends personal SMS text invitations to parents in their preferred language to browse and sign up for programs. Program options are automatically filtered based on a child’s age or grade level, and proximity to the child’s home or school of attendance. Once a parent selects a program, their registration form is pre-filled so they can sign up quickly. Simple!

Why OSCAR?

OSCAR was first proposed by a district summer coordinator who wanted a trustworthy service to handle the admin work so they could focus on programming. Coordinators take care of selecting students and the programs, then let OSCAR take care of the rest:

  • Outreach, registration, and reminders
  • Program inventory management
  • Roster reporting
  • Ensuring data security
  • Translation

…while giving you real-time dashboards and control over the whole campaign.
